I found the plans i used available from marine designer ken hankinson (now available from glen-l marine). his plans were designed around the 19ft 1939 chris craft barrelback mahogany runabout. the barrelback, or tumblehome as it is also known, gets it name from the transom design that is in the shape of a half round barrel.. Classic wooden boat plans is a collection of established wooden boat designs ranging from the early 1900’s to about 1970. some of our own designs are banshee, custom barrelback 19 and the deep v inspired by the donzi sweet 16, bantam. other plans include chris craft, hacker, gar wood, riva, switzer, barrel back, baby bootlegger, flyer, teaser.. The original chris craft barrel back was powered with a model m 6 cylinder, generating 130 hp. who did you get the plans from? i hope it's not "classic wooden boat plans". simply put you can toss a lot of power at this old puppy and not do much except make her unstable and whip a bunch of water into a froth, as it tries vainly to go faster..
